 Goan Cuisine 

The Goan cuisine consists of regional food popular in Goa .Rice, Seafood, Coconut ,Vegetables, Meat, Pork and local spices like kokum are some of the main ingredients. The staple food of the people of Goa is rice and fish curry. 

So here is the main dishes of Goa you should try when you visit Goa.
Each day each recipe will be posted .

1. Goan Fish Curry

The Goan Fish Curry or the Xitti Kodi is the staple food diet of the Goan people .it is loaded with various spices and mainly with coconut, its a warm and tangy sometimes raw mango is added to get a tangy flavour.

 What is the Goan food blog without the fish curry recipe?

So here is the recipe for it 

 Ingrediants:

• 6 Kashmiri chillies
• A small peice of ginger
• 1/2 Scraped coconut
• 3 Flakes of garlic
• 5-6 pepper ,
• 1 tea spoon of coriander seeds
• A pinch of methi seeds
• Kokum or raw mango is used
• 1/2 tea spoon of haldi powder
• 1/2 tea spoon jeera
• 1 Green chilly
• 4 or 5 Tirphal (Szechuan pepper)
• Salt

Main Ingredients

• 1 Decent sized Pomfret ( can also add kingfish or Mackrel)
• 1 Raw Mango ( alternate for tarmarind)

First of all slice and clean the fish and keep it aside.

Grind the masala ingredients mentiomed above , in a mixer with some water.

Add it to the cooking dish and add some water to it , so now there are two optional things depending apon how rich and heavy you want your fish curry.

Before you add masala to the pan you can add chopped onions to it. and insteast of water you can add coconut milk to it to make it rich, then add some salt and slit the green chilly.

Once the entire mixture comes to boil you can add the fish to the curry. along with the fish you can add raw mangoes to give it a nice tangy flavor  later you can add 4 or 5 Tirphal (Szechuan pepper). Cook till the fish becomes edible.

So now the dish is ready to serve with rice.

Now i would like to share what i feel about this dish all i can say is that i love this curry .. and u all should also try this .
